Brayco 599 UsThe recommended operating temperature range for MIL-PRF-7808 type oils are from –54°C to 149°C (-65°F to 300°F).UsesBrayco 599 is designed for use as an additive for turbine engines and helicopter transmissions which use MIL-PRF-23699 lubricating oil. Brayco 599 should be added to the oil sump immediately after an oil change when the equipment is intended to be placed in storage, especially in locations where high humidity and salt spray are present. The corrosion inhibited oil should be capable of limited use, not to exceed 25 hours. Consult the engine manufacturer’s manual to determine specific engine model recommendations and/or limitations.PreparationTo receive full protection for extended equipment storage, it is recommended to add Brayco 599 in concentrations between 10 and 15 percent by volume. Lower concentrations, between 5 and 10 percent, may be suitable for some component storage applications depending upon storage conditions and length of storage. Consult the engine manufacturer’s maintenance manual or service bulletin to determine specific engine model dilution ratio recommendations.SpecificationsBrayco 599 meets all the requirements of, and is qualified to MIL-PRF-8188D. This fluid is identified by NATO Code: C-638.LimitationsBrayco 599 is used in MIL-PRF-23699 synthetic turbine oils at 10-15% by volume addition for storage. It meets the requirements of General Electric, Aircraft Engine Group Specification D50TF6-S1.Shelf Life:Brayco 599 has a maximum recommended shelf life of 9 years from date of manufacture. This shelf life assumes that the product is stored in its original unopened packaging in ambient temperature conditions.
