Coolants should be tested at every PM or at least twice per year. The table below shows what’s important:
| CHARACTERISTIC | WHAT TO LOOK FOR |
| Color | If does not match original coolant, indicates mixed coolant |
| Clarity | Above 11 indicates soft metal damage / Below 7 indicates corrosion issues |
| pH | Needs to be -12F to -65F |
| Chemical Protection | Indicates adequate protection |
Freeze point and Chemical Protection can be hard to test, but Mobil and Hasco have the right tools for the job.
